Accidently On Purpose

...is the name of a song I learned to play on the piano when I was about 6 - you can imagine a lot of sharps and flats. Well, this seems to be how the Universe has determined I am to find my path in life.

I have made the trek from, "Kimberly Straw, Urban Planner," to "Kimberly Straw, Healing Center Owner & Massage Therapist" in a little over a decade. But from my first job as a waitress at 15 in Fort Wayne, Indiana (at Willy's!), to my current life of nurturing, educating and empowering my clients through massage and wellness, one thing has remained the same - I LOVE PEOPLE!

My choice to pursue urban planning at Ball State University - Go Cards! - trumped my earlier desire to be an architect... primarily based on the how planning plays a larger role in creating the whole community, physical and social, and in people's everyday lives.

My desire to constantly learn was sidetracked from a plan to go to law school for land use law, to massage therapy school at the Healing Arts Institute by the re-integration of my then 15-year old stepson into the picture. My time at Healing Arts Institute ended up being one of the most amazing experiences of my life!

My fascination with the human body and how it functions - and how to facilitate healing and recovery from dis-function - was greatly enhanced by my own experience and education with pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding my two beautiful girls.

In my pursuit of more knowledge and self-discovery, I was also lead to attend an amazing 3-day seminar called the Millionaire Mind Intensive (MMI). This was an unforgettable experience for me. My first attendance at "MMI" was in February of 2007, when I was just starting to stretch my entrepreneurial muscles. I reattended in November of that same year - and was so impressed with the intensity, intention and content of this seminar that I joined the Peak Potentials family as a Quantum Leap Member! (Which means I get to take as many of their amazing courses over a three-year period, whenever, and as many times as I want. Wow!) I also re-attended MMI for the third time in December of 2008 with my beautiful and brilliant 8-year old daughter and my husband! Can ya tell I kinda dig this stuff!

The Millionaire Mind Intensive is based on the amazing #1 Bestseller, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, by T. Harv Eker. This is a brilliant, but quick read. Simply put, Harv teaches people how to master the "inner game" of wealth in order to create outward success. Harv provides tools to be successful in ALL aspects of your life, especially the financial arena. In the Summer of 2008, my husband and I took one of Peak Potentials most amazing courses and became Enlightened Warriors in the most beautiful setting in British Columbia with spectacular views of the mountains near Whistler! This course is very possibly the most powerful personal development course - and one that pushes you hardest to discover your limits and limitlessness! - on the planet. Really!

If nothing else, I would implore anyone who has any desire to search for something more... in themselves, in others, in business, in LIFE! to do yourself an enormous favor and attend the very next MMI you can - no matter where in the world it is being held. You owe it to yourself - and it's well worth your time!
